This summer, seven Fordham Law School students and four faculty members traveled to Tanzania to conduct fieldwork on women's housing rights. After a semester spent studying Tanzanian culture, law, and history and with a firm grounding in international human rights law, the group spent two weeks in Tanzania investigating and documenting the difficulties women face in securing adequate housing in urban areas, focusing on the factors that push women to move to urban areas and the unique challenges women face during their time in urban slums.
Come hear the 2010 Crowley Scholars Jacqueline Bevilaqua, Mari Byrne, Cristine Delaney, Maria-Elena Kolovos, Jesse Melman, Matthew Putorti, Amy Rossnagel, Marni von Wilpert and Crowley Fellow Katherine Hughes at the Leitner Center's weekly Brown Bag Lunch.
The presentation will summarize the trip and its findings, while also providing students with an overview of the Crowley experience and application process.
