Lisa Magarrell will speak on the question of U.S. accountability for the Bush Administration's torture policy and other abuses of detainees in U.S. counterterrorism operations. Focusing on the importance of revealing the truth about abuses, prosecuting those most responsible, and providing redress to victims, she will discuss the challenges of accountability in this context. More information about the ICTJ's U.S. Accountability Project can be found at www.ictj.org.

Lisa Magarrell is the Senior Associate in charge of U.S. Programs at the International Center for Transitional Justice, and served as an advisor to the Greensboro Truth and Reconciliation process.
